  • Modify Date: 2020/09/28

The Taipei International Machine Tool Show (TIMTOS) will be held on March 15-20, 2021 in the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center Hall 1 and Hall 2 and the World Trade Center Hall 1. With the support of domestic and foreign machinery manufacturers, the number of booths is expected to reach 7,000, and TIMTOS 2021 will be a major event of the machinery industry next year. Fully engaged in propaganda and promotion, the organizers, namely Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) and Taiwan Association of Machinery Industry (TAMI), will also regularly launch online events with different themes every month. Starting from this August, TIMTOS Glimpse and TIMTOS Salon are aired on a regular basis to assist the industry players to promote new models, grasp the key global market trends, and catch up with global business opportunities.

Already aired in August was the first episode of TIMTOS Glimpse, in which the Hiwin Technologies Corp., a world-renowned ball screw manufacturer, was interviewed. Then, broadcast on September 10 was an in-depth report on the 70-year-old hydraulic press equipment manufacturer Lien Chieh Hydraulic Industrial Co., Ltd. (LCH) and how LCH is able to create a high-quality machine tool with cutting edges comparable to that of Germany and Japan as well as how the LCH has developed its patented ECO SERVO technology for energy-saving and noise reduction in recent years. Released on September 24 will be the Buffalo Machinery Co., Ltd., a firm specializing in the development and manufacturing of high-end machine tools. In the video, a few outstanding products will be highlighted not only its newest brand AXILE, a high-end high-speed metal machining center adapting to industry 4.0 but also its innovative technologies and transformation achievements developed in response to the post-COVID-19 era.

TIMTOS Salon events focus on inviting important foreign machine tool association representatives to share first-hand information on local markets. After the successful launch about the current situations of the US and Turkish markets in August, the TIMTOS Salon continues to focus on the world in September. Pushed out on September 17 will be the third episode of TIMTOS Salon, in which Mr. V. Anbu, Chairman of the Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers' Association (IMTMA) will share with us the current situation and trend of the Indian manufacturing industry under the COVID-19 pandemic; India is the third largest export destination for Taiwan's machine tools. Mr. V. Anbu will also address the opportunities and impacts that the Indian government will bring to the machine tool industry after the implementation of the emission standard Bharat Stage (BS) IV policy. From October to November, TIMTOS Salon and TIMTOS Glimpse will continue to release new videos on Thursdays from the 2nd to the 4th week of each month.

TIMTOS 2021 strives to break through the restrictions of pandemic and strengthen the integration of online and offline resources. Aside from using the TIMTOS Salon and TIMTOS Glimpse series of films as warm-up activities, TAITRA has been intensively preparing for the TIMTOS online exhibition to meet the needs of exhibitors and buyers. Expected to be launched soon, the online version of TIMTOS will debut in an O2O mode together with the physical exhibition.
